January 14th, 2017 marked the return of “Eye of the Tiger” to the Philadelphia area. The venue that previously hosted this competition closed it’s doors in 2010 and marked the end of the contest. This year however, Gage Strength Training, located in West Chester, PA stepped up to the plate and was an awesome host for this year’s contest! This show also marked the 60th contest that Teambix Strength has promoted in strongman.
Winners from this year’s contest included Astrid Anderson from the Women’s Novice division. Jennie Repsher punched her nationals invite ticket with a win in the Women’s open class. Tony Bianco won his first lw175 contest! Jacob Bonneville made a come from behind victory to take the mw231 class and Paul Laudenslager weighed in as a middleweight and still took the heavyweight class win!
A big thanks to all of the Teambix Strength staff who helped the show run smooth. Thank you to Devin Gage and Gage Strength team for being such awesome hosts. Also thank you to all the athletes who gave some amazing performances this weekend! And lastly, thank you to our great sponsors and ID Life for giving out free samples all day to athletes and spectators! Look for the Eye of the Tiger to return to the Philadelphia area in 2018!
